Week 4 - Implantation
Bobo Team • Pregnancy • 2 min read
Congratulations on reaching week 4 of this remarkable journey with your partner!
Bobo will be sending you and your partner weekly updates on your pregnancy progress, child development, and Canadian based information up to the age of two. Here is a guide to assist you in navigating through each stage.
Confirmation of Pregnancy and Your Baby’s Development
By week 4, you and the mother have likely confirmed the pregnancy through a home pregnancy test or other means.
During this week, the baby is as small as a poppy seed, undergoing significant development from the delicate formation of the neural tube to the first signs of its heartbeat.
Understanding Physical and Emotional Changes
While physical changes may not be obvious yet, you might begin noticing shifts in your partner's body as it adjusts to pregnancy. She may still experience symptoms like light spotting or implantation cramping. Encourage her to reach out to her healthcare provider if she encounters severe pain, bright-red bleeding, nausea, fever, or if she has any concerns.
Supporting Your Partner
Emotionally, it's important to be understanding and supportive. Pregnancy brings a range of feelings, so be there to listen and offer comfort.
Encourage your partner to nourish her body with folate-rich foods such as leafy greens and citrus fruits, which support early embryo development and contribute to a healthy pregnancy.
